Needless to say, they can play well almost all kinds of dog sports; agility, disk dog, fly ball and so on. Some of them are guide dogs for the blind or the deaf, some are rescue dogs and some are... After all, they are versatile.

But we don't think it's suitable to simply put them on the label signed "working dogs" by imagining only their working scenes. After work, they make themselves at home, welcome visitors with other family members and even enjoy their own time.

They are also breadwinners in each pack family.

Of course, there should be severe and harsh situation to "work" and they have strong mind not to surrender against any difficulty. On the other hand, they are capable of being cooperative and behaving themselves.

All border collies will not grow up as such even though they have sheets of pedigree certificate. They are no more than the dogs that have such tendency or potential. With a little care and plenty of love, they grow up into fine Border Collies.

And for caring them properly, the most important thing is to understand them. They have been bred very carefully so that they can help the sheep work of farmers. For running around vast farms, hills or even caverns, tough and supple body with endless stamina and superb intelligence for making decision (independently and cooperatively) are inherited from their old ancestors.

Because of this history, modern Border Collies can be versatile.

FBCC believes such historical background which has made modern Border Collies versatile should not be forgotten, and only the good balance of physical and mental growth will raise them to the Border Collies just as we have admired.
